TBA VETERINARY NOTICE - Outbreaks of EVA in non-thoroughbreds in Normandy, France

There have recently been a number of outbreaks of Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA) in France, with the index case occurring at a breeding centre in Calvados, Normandy.  The horses affected to date are all non-thoroughbreds and include sport horses (engaged in breeding and competition) and purebred Arabian racehorses. 

Increased vigilance is recommended at this time, especially with the movement of thoroughbreds between France and Britain, that may have been in contact with sport horses or Arabians.
