The TBA Stud Farming Course (8–10 December) provides delegates with a comprehensive overview of key stud management topics. The programme features a series of talks from industry experts, including those from Newmarket Equine Hospital, Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons, and the Royal Veterinary College.
Each day of the course has a different focus. Day one covers reproduction and fertility, including the mare's reproductive cycle, management of the barren mare, biosecurity and the causes of abortion, and parasite control on the stud farm. Day two turns to foal and yearling health and the road to sale, with sessions on broodmare nutrition, diseases of the older foal and yearling, yearling selection and preparation for the sales. Day three focuses on foaling and neonatal care, covering potential birth problems, common conditions of the newborn foal, and growth defects, alongside a session on farriery for foals and mares.
Across the three days, there are exclusive visits including Darley and the National Stud for a demonstration with their new foaling simulator. A course dinner on the first night gives delegates the opportunity to socialise with fellow delegates, speakers and industry professionals.

The fee includes all lunches, refreshments, dinner on the first night, and online access to some of the course material after the event. Accommodation is not provided, but a list of local hotels can be sent on request.
