TBA Silent Auction of Stallion Nominations

Nominations for the TBA Silent Auction of Stallion Nominations are now open and breeders will have the chance to bid on nominations to a variety of sires until the close of the NH Stallions Showcase on Wednesday, 24th  January at the Goffs UK sales complex.   The auction features a number of exciting British-based National Hunt stallions including new recruits Jack Hobbs and Dartmouth, and Scorpion the sire of multiple Grade 1 winner Might Bite.

The TBA would like to thank all participating stallion studs for their kind generosity in donating nominations to the auction, in which all proceeds will go towards funding TBA’s NH activities.

Nominations for the following stallions can be bid on throughout January by contacting the TBA office on 01638 661321, where a member of the team will update you on the current bids and process your bid.   The TBA team will also be present to take any final bids at the NH Stallion Showcase, where a number of the stallions featured in the auction will be on show.

Black Sam Bellamy

Sadler’s Wells ex Urban Sea

Dual Group 1 winner and full-brother to Champion sire, Galileo. Sire of recent Gr1 Long Walk Hurdle winner Sam Spinner and multiple Group performer The Giant Bolster.

Cannock Chase

Lemon Drop Kid ex Lynnwood Chase

A Group winner at 3, 4 and 5, including the Group 1 Canadian International Stakes at Woodbine. His first crop will be foals in 2018.

Clovis Du Berlais

King’s Theatre ex Kenza Du Berlais

A Graded performer and winner over both fences and hurdles in France. From one of the most successful jumps pedigrees in France and a half-brother to Paddy Power Gold Cup winner, Caid du Berlais. His first crop will be foals in 2018.

Dartmouth

Dubawi ex Galatee

Dual Group 2 winner including the Hardwick Stakes at Royal Ascot, where he beat 7-time Group 1 winner Highland Reel. Retired to commence stud duties at Shade Oak Stud in 2018.

Dunaden

Nicobar ex La Marlia

Winner of the G1 Melbourne Cup, G1 Caufield Cup and G1 Hong Kong Vase. Retired to Overbury Stud in 2015.

Fair Mix

Linamex ex Fairlee Wild

Group 1 winner and multiple Group performer. Sire of Simonsig, making him the only British-based stallion to sire a Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival winner over both hurdles and fences.

Jack Hobbs

Halling ex Swain’s Gold.

Winner of G1 Irish Derby and G1 Dubai Sheema Classic, and placed second behind Golden Horn in both the Derby and the Dante Stakes. Retired to commence stud duties at Overbury Stud in 2018

Native Ruler

Cape Cross ex Love Divine

Placed in the Gr2 Jockey Club Stakes and a half-brother to Sixties Icon. His first crop will be 5-year olds in 2018.

Norse Dancer

Halling ex River Patrol

Dual Group 3 winner and Group performer, including second in the Gr1 Irish Champion Stakes. Sire of dual Grade 1 winner Yanworth.

Recharge

Cape Cross ex Rebelline

Group 3 winner and multiple Group performer. Dam won the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup.

Passing Glance

Polar Falcon ex Spurned

Dual Group winning miler and multiple Group performer. Sire of Group 1 winner Side Glance on the flat and Cheltenham Festival winner Attaglance.

Pether’s Moon

Dylan Thomas ex Softly Tread

Multiple Group performer and winner of the Gr1 Coronation Cup, where he beat Flintshire and Dolniya. His first crop will be yearlings in 2018.

Phoenix Reach

Alhaarth ex Carroll’s Canyon

Triple Group 1 winner over 12f, including the Dubai Sheema Classic and Hong Kong Vase. Sire of Elm Park, winner of the Gr1 Racing Post Trophy and Stakes performers Whiplash Willie and Rawaki.

Scorpion

Montjeu ex Ardmelody

Triple Group 1 winner including the Irish Derby and St Ledger Stakes. Sire of Group 1 winners Might Bite, Don’t Touch It and Scopiancer.

Sun Central

Galileo ex Bordighera

Dual Stakes winning son of Galileo and a half-brother to multiple Group 1 winners George Washington and Grandera.

Telescope

Galileo ex Velouette

Dual Group 2 winner including the Harwick Stakes at Royal Ascot, and second to Taghooda in the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Retired to Shade Oak Stud in 2016.

Universal

Dubawi ex Winesong

Dual Group 2 winner including the Princess of Wales’ Stakes Gr2 at Newmarket. His first crop will be three-year olds in 2018.
