Project Delivery Executive (18 month contract)
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Delivery Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the environment and the wellbeing of the industry’s participants – both equine and human. The role will primarily be responsible for the organisation and delivery of initiatives relating to optimising environmental sustainability and supporting high standards of equine health and welfare in the thoroughbred breeding industry; including events, educational resources and digital content. This exciting role will involve building relationships with breeders and collaborating with the wider industry on environmental activities. The role will also include supporting the TBA’s educational activities on equine health and welfare.
As Project Delivery Executive you will be central to the coordination and successful implementation of TBA projects. You will work collaboratively with the internal TBA team, with TBA members and across industry with partners, stakeholders and funders to deliver projects efficiently and effectively.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing support to the Equine Health and Welfare Manager with the organisation and delivery of initiatives relating to the TBA’s objectives around optimising environmental sustainability and supporting high standards of equine health and welfare in the thoroughbred breeding industry.
- Assisting with the ongoing development and delivery of the TBA’s Environmental Sustainability strategy. To include engaging with TBA members to provide assistance and to advance their understanding of area specific tools.
- Providing administrative support for the TBA’s Environmental Sustainability Committee, including diarising meetings and the drafting of meeting agendas and minutes.
- Implementing the TBA’s Environmental Sustainability Policy and acting as office champion.
- Assisting with the co-ordination and delivery of the TBA’s events, seminars and conferences, particularly those organised to fulfil educational objectives around equine health, environmental sustainability and social impact, including supporting the Education Executive with the planning and running of the annual TBA Stud Farming Course.
- Scoping content and providing briefs for the TBA Communications team to promote activities of the Environmental Sustainability Committee, Education and Employment Committee and Veterinary Committee.
- Assisting with the implementation of grant funded initiatives including those focussed on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework
- Supporting the TBA team as required, including but not limited to attending external events such as during the breeding stock sales, National Racehorse Week, the annual Racing Foundation Conference etc.
- Assisting with telephone cover and other daily office services.
What we are looking for:
- Good knowledge of the environmental sector.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A skilled communicator who can engage with different audiences and in different mediums
- Experience of Microsoft 365 products – in particular, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Powerpoint.
- The ability to work well within a team, but also on own initiative
- Good general equine knowledge
The ideal candidate will have an interest in / knowledge of horseracing and/or breeding. Experience and/or qualifications in environmental sustainability would also be desirable. A full UK driving licence is essential.
