Future TBA Events

The TBA offers its members numerous events and Regional days throughout the country, throughout the year.

In 2008 members went to racing yards such as Henry Cecil’s and Alan King’s, studs such as Juddmonte Farms and Plantation and had an exclusive visit to Windsor Castle, as well as the Emerging Equine Diseases seminar, the Golf Weekend, the NH Stallion parade and the 3-day Stud Farming Course.

Friday 3rd April – Central and East Midlands Region – CANCELLED – To be re-scheduled at a later date The Animal Defence Centre, Army School of Equitation – Application form at the bottom of the page

Thursday 7th May – Yorkshire
A visit to Ferdy Murphy’s Wynbury Stables and a tour of the Black Sheep brewery

Wednesday 20th May – Scotland
Morning lectures on the medical and orthopaedic problems of foals and yearlings, followed by an afternoon tour of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.

Thursday 21st May – The North
A morning seminar at Haydock Park Racecourse, covering pedigree analysis and sales preparation, globalised diseases and the course re-structure, followed by afternoon racing.

Tuesday 26th May – The West – FULL
Richard Hannon’s yard and Raffin Stud

Thursday 25th June – South East
A visit to Whitsbury Manor Racing Stables home to Ralph Beckett followed by a tour of Whitsbury Manor Stud

Friday 26th June – Wales
A visit to Llety Stud , followed by a tour of Dyffryn Tywi Equine Clinic and an afternoon tour of the new Ffos Las Racecourse.

Sunday 28th June – Race for Life, Bury St Edmunds – The TBA girls aim to raise money for Cancer Research again this year by participating in this 5km run. If you would like to sponsor us, please use our Just Giving website –

Monday 6th JulyExtraordinary General Meeting of the TBA, 5pm Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket, followed by a drinks party at Stanstead House.

Tuesday 14th July – East Anglia
A tour of the Godolphin stables and the new Newmarket Equine Hospital

Thursday 23rd July – West Midlands
A visit to George Baker’s Far Westfields Farm followed by Upton Viva Stud

Friday 25th September – The Watership Down Stud Sales Race, at Ascot.

The TBA/Watership Down Stud Sales Race is now firmly established in the Annual Flat Race Programme, and trainers are very much aware of the prize money and prestige to be gained.

Wednesday 25th June 2008-Yorkshire Regional Day

Members were treated to an entertaining day courtesy of Regional Representative Jack Berry on the last Regional Day of 2008.

Monday 23rd June - EMERGING EQUINE DISEASES SEMINAR

In a fascinating programme, comprising superb speakers from the UK, USA, France and South Africa, in the region of 200 delegates learnt about the diseases themselves, the likelihood of them occurring in the UK and the measures opened that can be taken to prepare for such an event.

12th to 15th June - Members' trip to Cologne, Germany

Gestüts Schlenderhan and Roettgen are two of the largest and most famous thoroughbred studs in Germany, and both were ports of call for TBA members on their three day trip to Cologne.

Tuesday 10th June - Regional Day, West Midlands

Tweenhills Farm & Stud

Over 40 members in the West Midlands Region were treated to a fascinating day in June at David Redvers Tweenhills Farm and Stud.

Thursday 5th June - Regional Day, South East

South East Regional Day

Members were treated to a wonderful Regional Day at Lower Coombe Stables, Arundel Equine Hospital and Lavington Stud.
