The Thoroughbred Breeders Association, the National Stud and the Racing Foundation have joined forces to offer a Regional Course, held at York Racecourse on 5th September 2017. The course is FREE to TBA/TTC members, with non-members also welcome for a cost of £35 including lunch and refreshments. It is an excellent opportunity to learn or refresh your knowledge of key topics in Thoroughbred stud management.
The day starts at 10am with a talk from Louise Jones, senior equine nutritionist at Red Mills, on ‘Feeding Youngstock for Growth and Development’, followed by a tea and coffee break.
Sam Beeley, AECF, master farrier will then speak on ‘Limb Deformities in Foals’ and Charles D Cook (MRCVS) from Equine Reproductive Services presents a talk on ‘The Principles of Foaling’.
After lunch, Charles D. Cook returns to speak about ‘The Neonatal Foal; common problems and diseases’, followed by Caroline Turnbull from the TBA who will discuss the wide range of benefits on offer to TBA members. The course concludes at 3pm.
