EVA vaccine advice – UPDATE

August 29, 2017 |

UPDATE: Further to our recent communication on EVA Vaccine availability, we have issued a revised version of the note, which confirms that there will be no Equip Artervac vaccine available (or a suitable alternative) after the current licensed batch expires on 26th November.  The TBA’s veterinary advisors are working on a solution to this issue and further information will be made available in due course.

The vaccine Equip Artervac (Zoetis) has been used for many years to provide stallions and teasers with some protection against equine arteritis virus (EAV).

There will be a gap in the supply of Artervac once current batches expire in November 2017. Supply will resume in 2018, although the exact date is not yet known. TBA veterinary advisors James Crowhurst, MRCVS and Professor Sidney Ricketts, together with Dr Richard Newton of the Animal Health Trust, have provided an advice note for TBA members on this situation, and further information will be made available in due course.
