Annual National Hunt Stallion Parade
The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association was delighted to hold its annual National Hunt Stallion Parade at Cheltenham Racecourse on Countryside Race Day, Friday 16th November 2012.
Some of the best British-based proven EBF qualified NH and dual purpose Stallions were on show, including SAKHEE who travelled en-route to David Futter’s Yorton Farm in Shropshire from Shadwell Stud, where he has stood for the past ten seasons, siring three Group 1 winners on the Flat as well as leading hurdler Grumeti.
For all mare owners intending to support British based sires in 2013 it was the ideal opportunity to view 10 stallions in one place, and afterwards discuss plans for their mares with the stallions’ connections in the TBA Stallion Parade marquee. The HBLB/TBA Elite NH Mares Incentive Scheme for 2013 was launched; this Scheme rewards the owners of those mares proven on the racecourse or at stud, by offering them heavily discounted nomination fees to British based stallions supporting the Scheme. A booklet giving details of the Scheme can obtained from the TBA or downloaded here.
Stallions paraded:
ALKAASED, ARVICO, BLACK SAM BELLAMY, BRIAN BORU, KUTUB, MALINAS, PHOENIX REACH, PRINCE FLORI, SAKHEE, SCHIAPARELLI.
The TBA is grateful to the European Breeders’ Fund, British Bloodstock Marketing, Doncaster Bloodstock Sales and Weatherbys for their continued support.

TBA Elite National Hunt Mares Incentive Scheme
Now in its second year, the Elite NH Mares’ Incentive Scheme will continue to reward the owners of those mares proven on the racecourse or at stud, by providing subsidised, and in some cases free, nominations.
No fundamental changes are to be made to the Scheme for 2013 as regards to qualifying mares, the basis for inclusion being aged 18 years and under (born 1995 or later) with an Official Rating of 125+ or production of a 140+ NH performer. The aim of the Scheme is to underline to mare owners the quality of stallions available in this country, and to give a valuable incentive to TBA members who own such mares to cover them with the best from the ranks of young or proven stallions in Britain.
