The TBA Team at Stanstead House

TBA Staff

Gavin Pritchard-Gordon, Executive Director

Promoter and ambassador for the TBA with specific responsibility for recruiting new members and retaining existing members and promoting British bloodstock overseas, requiring a significant degree of out of office activity. TBA representative on the BHA Industry Committee, Chairman of British Bloodstock Marketing, British Stud Staff Training Scheme and the European Federation of Thoroughbred Breeders’ Associations.

Louise Kemble, Chief Executive

Responsible for the day to day running of the TBA, including finances and staff; preparation of the monthly Council meetings; representing the TBA in political negotiations; co-ordinating the HBLB Breeders’ Prizes Scheme; provides support and briefings to the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Council members and Veterinary adviser; Director of the Weatherbys’ General Stud Book Board, Director of the Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder magazine and member of the Editorial Committee; TBA representation on British Horseracing Education Standards Trust, Horsemen’s Group and British Horse Industry Confederation; TBA First Aider.

Caroline Turnbull

TBA Training and Recruitment Manager : Main role is to introduce and implement the recommendations made for the breeding industry in the Report of the Stable and Stud Staff Commission published in June 2004. Priority areas to be addressed include the introduction of a central registration scheme for studs, the development of education and training of staff at all levels, the improvement of staff recruitment and retention, the introduction of advisory schemes on employment and health and safety issues, and the development of an industry wide best-practice standard. TBA representative on BHB Training Advisory Group and member of TBA Stud Farming Course Committee; TBA Health & Safety Officer.

Desna Tatler

Personal Assistant to the Executive Director
Responsibilities: Secretarial support to Gavin Pritchard-Gordon; secretary to the TBA Council; organising the Annual Awards Dinner.

Pauline Stoddart (Part time)

Personal Assistant to Chief Executive
Responsibilities: Secretarial support to Louise Kemble; secretary to the TBA National Hunt Committee including organising the National Hunt Stallion Parade.

Christine Standley (Part time)

Associations’ Accounts and Office Manager
Responsibilities: Managing office procedures and producing day to day accounts and preparation of quarterly management accounts for the Association, Managing the TBA Payroll and pension administration; organising the AHT/TBA Stud Farming Course; general office duties.

Samantha Knight

Membership Secretary
Responsibilities: Subscription renewals, enquiries and recruitment of members; support of Regional Representatives; Watership Down Stud Sales race entries and monitoring; co-ordinating the annual Golf weekend; co-ordinating the Annual Review; TBA First Aider; TBA website; TBA library.

Sara Savage

Responsibilities: Administration, monitoring the HBLB Breeders Prizes Scheme and providing admin support for the British Stud Staff Training Scheme.
Responsibilities: General administrative support; organising the Intervet/TBA Maiden Mares Point to Point Series and Regional Meetings; monitoring British Bred success including the production of letters to winning breeders.
