TBA Staff

Louise Kemble, Chief Executive

Responsible for the running of the management of the TBA charity, its finances and staff. Representing the TBA in political negotiations; co-ordinating the HBLB Breeders’ Prizes Scheme; providing support and briefings to the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Board members and Veterinary adviser; Director of the Weatherbys’ General Stud Book Board, Director of the Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder magazine and member of the Editorial Committee; TBA representative on British Horseracing Education Standards Trust, Horsemen’s Group and British Horse Industry Confederation and EFTBA.

Pauline Stoddart

Personal Assistant to Chief Executive
Full administrative support for the Chief Executive and carrying out of specific projects. Secretary to the TBA Board, Executive & Finance Committee, Audit Committee, Veterinary Committee and National Hunt Committee. Organization of the Flat and National Hunt Stallion Parades, the Annual General Meeting and Annual Awards. Co-ordinates and produces regular TBA member mailings, collates and produces articles for TBA input into the Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder, incorporating Pacemaker, magazine.

Caroline Turnbull

Employment & Education Manager
Implementation of the recommendations made for the breeding industry in the Report of the Stable and Stud Staff Commission published in June 2004. Involving improvement of the training, recruitment and retention of stud staff at all levels, and the provision of help and advice for employers. TBA Representative on BHA Welfare and Training Group and responsible for organizing the TBA Stud Farming Course and TBA educational seminars.

Christine Standley (Part time)

Associations’ Accounts and Office Manager
Managing office procedures and producing day to day accounts, preparation of the quarterly management accounts for the Association, managing the TBA Payroll and pension administration; administration of the AHT/TBA Stud Farming Course; general office duties.

Lesley O’Shea has taken over from Samantha Knight who is on maternity leave.

Membership Secretary
Subscription renewals, enquiries and recruitment of members; support of Regional Representatives, including their annual meeting and the adminstration of the Regional Days; Secretary to the Next Generation Committee; Watership Down Stud Sales race entries and monitoring; co-ordinating the annual Golf weekend and Clay Pigeon Shoot; co-ordinating the Annual Review and Annual Report; TBA First Aider; TBA website; TBA library; TBA adverts.
