The TBA have been asked to send this notice to Members :
Dear All,
PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TO SAVE NEWMARKET- THE HOME OF HORSERACING
As I am sure you are aware, Newmarket, a rural market town, is currently the world’s HQ of racing – over 3,000 horses cross through the town daily to reach the gallops. There is nowhere else in the world like it – with such a concentration of racing related businesses , it is simply referred to as HQ.
Lord Derby has just put in an application to develop Hatchfield Farm, just yards from the town centre, to build 1,200 homes, an 80 bedroom hotel, 27,000 square metres of office space, shops, restaurants and bars.
The racing world and Newmarket residents are devastated. It will add 33% (5,000 people) to their population of 15,000, make traffic congestion, already an issue, impossible and urbanise the town making it eventually unsuitable for breeding and training horses and lead to the demise of HQ.
Please help our campaign to stop this development by signing our petition –

More information on this can be found on Save Historic Newmarket’s website

Please also forward this on to any of your friends who you think would be interested to support the campaign.
There will be a rally at Tattersalls on Monday 14th December at 12pm. If you can come along and support this it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks and best wishes
