TBA/ROA FREE LEASE EXCHANGE

The significant increase in the number of unsold and bought-in yearlings has been uppermost in the minds of the respective TBA and ROA Councils, and whilst it is accepted that some breeders will have to respond to market forces and plan accordingly for the longer term, a short-term measure has been devised by the Associations, to put breeders/vendors and prospective owners in contact to establish free leasing arrangements.

This service is only open to TBA and ROA members; all TBA members need to do is complete the form below providing details of their unsold or bought-in yearlings, for which they would be prepared to offer a FREE LEASE for 2010 to run as a two year old.

The TBA will pass this information on to the ROA for distribution to their members. Details will be posted on the ROA website www.racehorseowners.net
and circulated via the ROA’s email service to members.

The Free Leasing Scheme will also be publicised via the Thoroughbred Owner & Breeder Magazine and individual promotion opportunities can be discussed with Giles Anderson at Anderson & Co on 01380-816777.

This service is totally free for members – we encourage you to make an early response to this offer as ROA members are waiting for this information and, naturally, the first yearlings to be offered are likely to reach a larger audience. We believe this positive initiative will help to support the Industry at a time when the welfare implications of overproduction are uppermost in people’s minds, and the potential damage this can cause to many aspects of the business, not least on its public image.
