The Tristram Ricketts Fellowship
Sir Tristram Ricketts joined the Horserace Betting Levy Board in 1974 as Assistant Principal Officer. In 1993 he left the Levy Board to become the first Chief Executive of the newly created British Horseracing Board (BHB). Tristram left the BHB in September 2005 as its Secretary-General and returned to the Levy Board as Chief Executive.
Universally respected, Tristram was also a member of the British Horserace Industry Confederation and Chairman of the European Pattern Committee. He was always welcome on the world’s racecourses and his willingness to help people with a ready smile and a great sense of humour made him exceptionally popular. This, combined with his integrity and intelligence, made Tristram one of Racing’s finest ambassadors.
The Tristram Ricketts Fellowship is designed to enable a man or woman, within UK horseracing, to acquire knowledge and experience at home and/or preferably abroad and, in the process, gain a better understanding of the wider aspects of the sport. One Fellowship is awarded each year. Please find below further details of the Tristram Ricketts Fellowship and an application form.
